Women in recovery often have a range of social and cultural pressures that men do not encounter. Sending a woman to a traditional outpatient or sober living program can often be a recipe for relapse or even worse particularly if those needs are not adequately addressed. The Orchid recognizes the importance of addressing these unique and specialized needs for a successful recovery. To that end, the Women’s Transition Program was established. This is a program for women by women.

The program is specifically geared for those women who have completed treatment or are in need of a supportive relapse prevention environment Particular emphasis is placed on providing both a nurturing environment that promotes independent living and a flexible intensive outpatient program (IOP) which targets the specific recovery needs of the person.
