More than anything, I received exactly what I needed in terms of recovery.

Words cannot describe the amazing, life changing experience I had at The Orchid. I feel whole again. The variety of groups allowed me to approach all angels of life giving me a strong foundation. I now consider the staff part of my family I couldn’t have asked for a better place to heal.

The Orchid, through their staff’s own experience and strength, gave me a foundation on which I can build the rest of my life. I am no longer living with the pain, misery and suffering that my disease inflicted. The day I walked into The Orchid, my life began to turn around and started taking on a meaning and contentment I never thought possible. It gets better one day at a time each and every day.

My daughter Erin has just returned from The Orchid after 30 days plus detox. Her mother and I (her father) were delighted to see her. She has changed for the better and the reformation is obvious. On the day of her arrival home we attended an AA and Al-Anon meeting together. Erin has come to face life as it is in honest terms and is OK with it.
The lessons learned at The Orchid and the “tools” that she left with to enable her to live a sober life are valuable assets. My sincere thanks and complements for an outstanding job and a wonderful program. Thank you for returning my beautiful daughter Erin to life and to us. The investment that made the Orchid possible for Erin was the best one of my life.

When I got to The Orchid, what I realized very quickly was that I had arrived in a safe place to heal and begin building the foundation for life in recovery. For the first time in years I formed bonds, opened my heart, got completely honest and felt empowered by the overwhelming love, support, guidance and knowledge I received in return from the staff and women in treatment. I came to understand that I was not alone and will never feel that way again.

On behalf of the Board, staff and especially the children of the Milagro Center, I would like to thank The Orchid Recovery Center for sponsoring our 2006-2007 Community Concert Series. The Orchid’s generous donation helps us continue the tradition of celebrating Delray Beach’s cultural diversity through the splendor of art. We sincerely appreciate your support. Thank you again. Your support and encouragement is how Milagro miracles happen.
- Marlo Belkin, Executive Director, Milagro Center
When I went to The Orchid, I did not want to get sober. I was very obnoxious, but regardless of my attitude, they still loved me and managed to help me stay there despite myself. I’ve never been to a treatment center like The Orchid; being around only females really made a difference in my journey – it helped me focus on me.

I recently celebrated my “first birthday.” I have never been happier or more proud. I had been to treatment three times prior to The Orchid – always with the same results – RELAPSE!”
“My therapist Marianne worked closer with me than anyone ever had before. I was able to talk about my issues (all of my issues) in a safe place where I never once felt judged. I loved psychodrama, acupuncture, healing sound and arts. I gained insights at The Orchid that I didn’t think I would have been able to gain in any other treatment center.
I look back at the many milestones in my recovery: I am starting to trust people, starting to like myself, and really coming to know my higher power. The Orchid made me a person; The Orchid gave me my life.
- Pat L.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to have a second chance for my life. There are no words to describe The Orchid! It is truly a wonderful place. You are to be congratulated for putting together a fantastic program and your staff is amazing. This has been such an experience for me. I am ready to go to any lengths for my sobriety. With the tools I learned there, and with God’s help – I am a grateful recovering alcoholic!

I am writing to thank you for the excellent, professional services and care you provided to my daughter Bella, and for the support and courtesy you extended to us, her family. The life skills program that you offer is unlike any other program we investigated while working to secure treatment for Bella. There are so many aspects of your program we feel were incredibly beneficial to Bella.
I cannot imagine a residential component to any program that would be of higher quality. The Bloom was very homelike and comfortable. Bella will appreciate her time there and the people she met there for the rest of her life. She learned so much about being a part of a family within her family at The Bloom.
Both the residential and the treatment aspects of the program offer necessary consistency and structure. Both components of the program were comprehensive, well-rounded, goal-oriented and “big picture” in focus although both components worked to teach clients to move forward in small, manageable steps.
It was also important to us that the program is small, personal and female only. Bella got the attention, the safety and the support she needed to become more independent and self-sufficient. You helped build her confidence.
The program adequately deals with the issue of boundaries. We all needed that! It was important for Bella that your services were designed to meet the needs of dual-diagnosis clients; those with both substance abuse and mental health concerns.
The fact that your program promotes and practices the use of many alternative resources (activities, programs, and supports) within the community has gotten Bella off to a great start in creating a healthy lifestyle for herself.
Your integration of clients of clients into community 12-step programs has created strong ties to the community for Bella. One important thing that was always lacking in Bella’s life was a sense of belonging. Exposing her to many different groups helped her find “her place.” The planning and follow-through regarding Bella’s after-care has been nothing short of perfect. Bella has been sober for six months now. She is honest with herself and with others. She is growing every day – opening herself up to new experiences and demands. She is becoming mature in her thinking. She is “processing” for the first time I can remember. She is being responsible. She has found inner-strength and inner-peace. We know that Bella had to draw from within herself to be at this point – at this pinnacle – but we also know that she was able to do it because of The Orchid. Women truly do heal at The Orchid.
