Passing Drug Tests And Hiding Drug Addiction
I just did an internet search on the words drug detox. Instead of drug detox centers or facts about drug detoxification, I saw an entire web page full of places willing to help you pass drug tests quickly. I was stunned, but maybe I shouldn’t be.
Helping People Cover Drug Addiction and Drug Abuse
My first reaction was shock that so many places would actually create products for this specific reason. Then I decided that drug abuse and addiction are far more rampant than anyone wants to admit. It’s entirely realistic that people are willing to make a buck of people trying to hide a destructive behavior.
Upon first glance, it appears that the target audience is people who have to face drug testing, perhaps for their job or maybe for legal issues. So the point of this is to allow a user to believe they can use when they want and then scrub away the evidence in a timely manner so they won’t get in trouble.
Living in Denial About Drug Abuse and Addiction
You know why this kind of detox kit would be so appealing to a drug addict? It fits nicely into the instant gratification patterns aspect of drug addiction. You want to feel a certain way right now? Do this. Stress getting too high and you want to escape? Take that. It’s almost too easy for these unscrupulous entrepreneurs. Like fishing right off the dock and plucking them out of the water.
Imagine that you are faced with a defining moment in your drug use. You have a good job, you still use drugs occasionally on the weekends like when you were a teen, and you like living in both worlds. You know your job has random drug tests at times and your name has come up. What now? Oh, thank goodness you bought that drug detox kit to take care of the evidence. You live to fight another day. How many more times will you get lucky like this? How brazen do you dare to be with your drug use? Do you drive after you’ve used? Do you gamble or get aggressive? With a blanket excuse to keep using drugs without some consequences, you might not find a reason to keep it in check.
And what would happen if you had to face the music? Well, you may certainly lose your job. Or, you may be offered some sort of Employee Assistance Program benefits. That program could introduce you to drug treatment counselors and possibly considering drug rehab. Tough to face, but it would blow it open somewhat in your mind. A chance to end the charade instead of extending it.
Drug Treatment Is Better Than Home Detox
If you know you need to detox your body from drugs, why not do it with professionals in a safe setting? You are not only assured that your health is in good hands, but you would also be ready to start the drug rehab process soon after. Maybe not the path you were thinking of when you ordered the detox kit, but how much longer do you think you can ride that runaway train before you crash?
